Accelerated Reader (AR) is a web-based program that helps manage/monitor students' independent reading practice. A student chooses a book at his or her own level and reads it at his or her own pace. When finished, the student takes a short comprehension and vocabulary quiz (for some selections) using a computer or an I-pad. AR gives students and teachers feedback based on the quiz results, that can be used to set goals and direct ongoing reading practice.
